Good Morning blog! Soo I think it has officially been a month since the last time I wrote to you. So much had happened in the past month. Well for one I had a little drama with the crew and bests. But we resolved it and we are all pretty much back to normal at this point. I was reall sad at their reactions though, it hurt me a lot, but I see where they were coming from but I still feel like they were just a little too harsh on me. But anyways enough of that, I try not to think about it much. But classes have been going pretty well, I took all of my first tests and I think I did really good on all of them :-) I am aiming for a 3.8 this semester. I was aiming for a 4.0 which I really think is attainable but German classes messed me up :-) I definitely got a C in that class… pissed me off…. But also from that experience I learned I have to be more open and approach my teachers more. Though I try it is as if they can only see so much I really have to put in an effort. I will definitely be doing that once I get back to Howard. I will also start putting myself more into my school work and stop talking about what I want to do and stop being so lazy. I can be a really driven person, but if I am not putting my all into it. I get extremely lazy. So that is something else I will be working on, from now on. Also, I like the way they structure classes here. I feel as if I learn so much more here rather than in the US. I do need to start doing more reading and keep up with current events in my spare time. It helps so much from what I have seen. But I have just gotten back from spring break… it was an amazing experience and so much fun. Granted I am exhausted and apparently will be for the rest of the time I am here, but what am I going to do, I definitely wont be getting any sleep when I get back to the US I have so much to do just within the first week I get back. For example the day after I get back my mom and I are having mother daughter day and going to get hair nails done and have lunch and stuff, cause I miss her so :-) and then the next day ill probably go visit friends and stuff and do whatever running around that I need to. Go to church that Sunday then Monday is memorial day so I need to find out rather ill be in NY or be in GA cuz I need to make bbq plans either way lol.. then the next day ill probably head down to Atlanta and while in Atlanta I will be packing up my stuff for school and bringing clothes and stuff back to NY with me, then ill be visiting family and friends in Atlanta then that Saturday is my little cousin Dominic’s graduation and then ill have 2 head back to New York to work so yeah you can get an idea lol. But anyway back to Europe lol, so again before spring break 3 weeks before I went to Vienna and that was cool.. granted I got a lil home sick but I still enjoyed myself fully. Went and did a little shopping, saw the sights, hung out a lil… it was cool. Then I went to Stockholm, Sweden the next weekend. And O my GOSH I love love love that city. I don’t know if I could live there ALL year but I would definitely like to have a summer house or something there if I could afford to it has such charm and character and its so cute. I really like it. The whole weekend was ridiculous though. We only got one night of sleep and stayed awake for like almost 3 days. It was crazy, we were sleeping in the train station and stuff.. smh ridiculous is all I can say lol. But overall it was definitely worth it. Then the next weekend started spring break and we stayed here in Salzburg and just chilled out, but that Monday officially started my spring break and the crazy amount of traveling we did. We left Salzburg and headed to Edinburgh, Scotland for 4 days. The day we got to Scotland it was starting to rain and continued to rain everyday until we left, but it was okay. So we checked into the Hostel and we went and found something to eat. We ate at this really nice bar place called amber rose it was cheap too. Well worth it food was great lol. The next day we walked around went up to Calton hill and went on a tour of the city. Wednesday we went to Holyrood castle which is the Queens permanent residence in Edinburgh and went to a free art museum as well. Thursday was kind of scuky, though because I messed up my ankle somehow and was barely able to put a lot of weight on it. So the one day it finally gets beautiful in Edinburgh, I was stuck in the hostel on the computer watching shows and stuff granted I got my tv time but I wanted 2 explore the coast and enjoy my spring break fully smh. My ankle though never healed from then, its better now, but even so when I go down stairs it kind of hurts and when I walk for a little while it starts to hurt also. But anyway. Once we left Edinburgh, Ileana and I went of to Brussels, while Hanna and Julie went to explore Great Britain. Brussels was the MOST Fun I had all spring break. Ileana and I acted a fool in a sense but were really actually just having fun that was controlled, but seeing as how I haven’t had my normal bit of fun like that since I was in the states, it felt like I was a new person lol. So we went to the different sites in Brussels, and saw basically everything, we were so exhausted we went and took a nap during the day, good thing we did because then it started to rain while we were napping and I did laundry as well – I had only brought enough clothes 4 a week so as to not overpack and have to pay a baggage fee for ryanair. So then we went out to a bar called Delirium which was SOO much fun and we had 3 beers… I had 2 flavored ones and a regular light beer. The 2 flavored beers were BOMB though, I had cherry and Mango.. man o man it was ridiculous. So then we went and brought some more chocolate – mind u its like almost 12 or 1 at this point and we spent about 30 dollars on some chocolate. – side note we had brough chocolate earlier that day when we got our waffles (amaazzzzinngg heaven x2 and we had a friseing or something for lunch. It was a hot dog in a sandwhich bread with corn and some sauce and ketchup and came with pommes frites – French fries.. it was really good though) and then we ae out afer that… I had so much fun in Brussels awith that girl it was AMAZING! Umm from there we went to Milan which was NOT what I expected at all… we saw the Duomo which was amazing and saw the shopping centers and stuff but didn’t really do much though because there isn’t that much to do in Milan actually. The whole time we were in Milan though I was surprised because I was expecting this ridiculously beautiful city but it wasn’t that pretty in most places, in some cases I thought it was worse than goin into NYC and heading up towanards the Bronx and Harlem. But even that I think in some aspects is better than Milan. We did have easter in Milan though and went to the Duomo for service.. It was cool, couldn’t understand a darn ting, but we made it through lol. Anyway so that Monday we left Milan and went to the next city were the Milanese escape Milan called Bergamo… that city is incredibly beautiful and was just absolutely breathtaking. Out hostel there was also amazing.. the pics we took there are gorgeous… Ileana and I just sat and talked for hrs actually while we were there… I realized we have so much more in common and she is such a beautiful person… she is really lucky too and she realizes that as well. But we ate some AMAZING Italian food while we were there at this restaurant we decided to go 2 when we were in the old town square and their food was just WOW I am soo glad we had eaten there lol… we also went shopping there and I had gotten some gelato and some sherbert and o man it was GR8 the whole experience there was amazing and we just looked out at he city because the old town is on a hill man was it beautiful I absolutely love that little city too.. however we got up super early the next morning because I had to catch my flight to Paris!! (excited shrill lol) and she was going to catch her flight to meet her parents in Munich. So I arrived in paris and absolutely fell in love with it.. it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Everywhere u go is gorgeous basically. And the SHOPPING oo man… but let me not jump ahead. So when I finally got to my hostel, I went and checked email and stuff to kill time cuz I still had several hours before the girls got there and before I could check into my room, then I went out and explored the area I was in which was the 18th arrondisement and where the Sacre couer is located and Moulin Rouge. I did se sacre coure – my favorite roman catholic church by far.. it is stunningly beautiful without being overly ornate like and other catholic church. I did sneak a picture inside it though I wasn’t supposed to.. I just couldn’t help myself lol… the 1 thing I didn’t like though was that when you walked outside of the church it was like a big circus and party. Inside its so pretty and quiet and just really calming but outside is something totally different anyway I went there then I went to this really nice shopping mall that the local PArisiens shop at called les halles it was gr8! I loved it and then the views are great too. I would definitely go back if I had the chance to. But we saw the bastille, the Eiffel tower umm notre dame, went to the cemetery where oscar wilde is buried and chopin, the louvre, the gardens, umm arch de triomphe, I mean we did so much I really cant remember off the top of my head. We ate so much good food and treats oooo man the desserts were I so good… I had like 1 a day lol… I never eat any type of desert or anything like that lol. I got some really nice souvenirs and some nice stuff for myself as well lol. U really cant expect me to go all the way to Paris and only get silly souvenirs and not shop for myself lol. But after it all I can honestly say I was SOO excited to get back to Salzburg, I actually miseed being here and seeing everyone – who wold’ve thought lol… I really am starting to love it here… no I do love it here… granted I miss my family and everything but I will see them soon and who knows the next time I will get to be here soo I am going to take the position of experiencing all I can here and loving every moment. Good or bad. I am actually really torn between rather or not I am ready to go back. This is starting to feel like home away from home in a way. And though I don’t really understand german like that, I feel comfortable here. Its really interesting to me. I missed seeing the river selz, and my friends here and st. sabby, and just the little things about Salzburg and riding on the bus or even walking through the old towne. It really is growing on me, but I don’t think I could ever see mysef living here. Maybe if I was to stay longer but eh, I don’t know. Speaking of which, since I have been here I have been heavily debating rather or not I want to still be a foreign service officer, I know for a facrt I still want to be able to see the world and travel around but I don’t know if I could handle being away from home for so long. Though at the same time I see it like I have ben here for almost half a year and am loving it just fine. I would like to see if there is somehow a compromise that I could make to do what I want but yet still be based in the US for most of the time. I don’t know we will see what happens. But at the same time I don’t want to make a decision to change my mind and not do the FSO and really end up loving it. I don’t know we will see how it goes. Maybe I wil look at teaching abroad during summers or something or I don’t know we will see for sure once I get back to the US. I could change my mind once I get back.
Lets see what else have I not talked about that has happened… o my grandpas 1yr anniversary came and I did pretty good with it. I still think of him often and cant wait to get home and visit him. I really miss him but I can see all that he is doing for me from heaven and that he is definitely watching over me… I do need to call Ash though and see how she is doing. I am going to try and get a second job this summer so we will see how that goes. I hope I can get one, or at least work on my volunteer opportunities and community service. I also cant believe in a couple of weeks I will be celebrating my 6 month anniversary. It seems crazy that I have actually been dating the same person for 6 months and he is still amazing.. I miss him so much but its cool, I will see him soon enough and cant wait to spend time with him this summer hopefully :-) . My parents have their anniversary coming up soon and I think it is going to be there 19.. I am thinking about throwing them a surprise party for their 20. not something huge,.. that will be there 25 lol but their 20 I want to at least organize a few things I have to talk to my sis and grandma about it :-) we will see what gma says bout it.. I need to call her too… when I talk to my mom I will call her.. but I am going to get out of this spot now and attempt to do some work for a little. It was nice catching up and I will kep u update with my final weeks here :-)
